IGP DAWAH IN COMMUNITIES GLOBALLY

Across the world there are Muslim communities that have inherited the deen but never received its tradition. Some were severed from their institutions by colonialism. Some have grown up in lands where the language of scholarship has not yet arrived. Some are small enough that the international Muslim establishment has passed them by. These communities have faith, and they hunger for the books that have nourished it for centuries. The hadith collections. The works of seerah. The classical texts of aqeedah, shama'il, tasawwuf, and tafsir.

THE MODEL

Imam Ghazali Publishing has built a program for exactly this situation. The IGP Essentials curriculum is a structured journey through six foundational Islamic texts covering hadith, aqeedah, seerah, shama'il, tasawwuf, and tafsir. Our scholars travel into the community and teach one specific book across a weekend intensive, page by page, from beginning to end. They return for the next book. They come to know the students by name. They learn the history of the place and the questions the people there are carrying. The curriculum unfolds across years, and by the end each student has moved through a real library of the tradition with a teacher who has walked beside them the whole way.

THE DIFFERENCE

Most international engagement with overlooked communities takes the shape of a single visit. A speaker flies in, gives a lecture, and leaves. The community gathers, listens, is moved, and the next morning life resumes as it was. IGP commits to a community for the long term. We bring the books, the scholars, and the curriculum together, and we stay with the students until the texts are completed. The relationship is built to last across years and to serve the local people who will carry the work forward when our scholars are not in the room.

WHERE WE HAVE BEEN

IGP has a lengthy history of service to Muslims in communities across Colombia, Guyana, Trinidad, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Malaysia, and beyond. We are drawn to communities where a small amount of effort produces a disproportionate impact, because the standard of engagement these communities have received from the wider Muslim world has been thin for so long. A weekend intensive with a qualified scholar, working through a classical text from cover to cover, is something most of these students have never had access to in their lives. The work multiplies quickly in places where almost nothing has come before.

WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER THIS

This is not a one time commitment to be part of something. This is a monthly commitment we are asking of you. Every spot covered by you is a Muslim who will sit with a qualified scholar, study a classical work cover to cover, and walk away with a foundation in the deen that the international community has not yet brought to them.

These are the communities the books have not reached. Let's bring the tradition to them.
